Since a couple of weeks, Xiaomi was teasing the launch of the new flagship smartphone. Today, the Xiaomi unveils the new Xiaomi Mi A1. The first pure Android experience from Mi on their phone, thanks to Google’s Android One project. Back in time, the Micromax, Karbonn, and spice were the first with Android one in 2014. As per Xiaomi, the device will be sold globally.
Initially, as a first gen Android One smartphone, it did fail to impress people. Because of low powered devices as well as some restriction to the manufacturers. In current time Google has loosened the restriction to manufacturers. The all-new Xiaomi Mi A1 is priced at just Rs. 14,999 | $233. The Mi A1 runs on stock Android which means “NO” MIUI skin on top.
The device comes with an Aluminium unibody. It has a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with the Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. The all-new Mi A1 is powered by the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 506 GPU. The internal storage of this device is 64GB which can be expanded via a micro-SD card slot.
Mi A1 sports a dual camera setup featuring 12MP telephoto sensor with f/2.6 aperture and 12MP wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The device can record 4K videos at 30 fps and slow-motion video at 120 fps with 720p resolution. The telephoto sensor also offers 2X optical zoom which makes Mi A1 a competitor of iPhone 7 Plus, OnePlus 5, and ASUS Zenfone Zoom S. For selfies, there is a 5MP camera with 36 built-in beauty modes. It’s a big deal to the customers.
Mi A1 is backed by a 3080mAh non-removable battery and supports 5V/2A fast charging. The dimensions of the device are 155.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm. At the rear, there is a circular fingerprint sensor to unlock the device.
